SCOOTER ONLY CLASSES
Bay Area Motorcycle Training is the only site to provide Scooter Only classes with the DMV waiver within San Francisco city limits.
Our scooter class is designed for students that have no experience at all and will address the differences between riding a scooter vs. a motorcycle. You will also receive the waiver for the DMV riding test if you pass, which is a licensing requirement for anyone under 21years and waives the riding portion of the DMV’s M1 licensing test if you are older.
The two classrooms sessions will be the same as and shared with students taking the motorcycle specific- classes, but during the range portions the scooter only class will split off onto its own range and will be taught by motorcycle safety instructors that have taken extra training that is specific to scooter riders. Scooters and helmets are provided. You are responsible for getting yourself to and from each session.
All of the same requirements for ID, gear, being on time, etc., apply to scooter only classes, see Required Items. You will not be allowed to ride without the gear, so bring it even though you are on scooter! If you do not have the required gear you will have to come back as a standby student for a fee.
Scooter only classes are only available in the 3-day format (the below times are approximate, check your confirmation letter for exact times):
