Second Riding Session
Usually coming back as standby student is the cheapest and fastest way to finish your course. If you come early and often, you can usually finish your class within a week.
If you still prefer to purchase a confirmed seat, please note rescheduling and refunds are NOT possible within 14 business days of the start of the session(s) you have purchased the confirmed seat(s) in, and it is YOUR responsibility to make sure you are meeting the 60-day requirements that are outlined below.
New seats are added regularly, so please check back often and/or sign up for the wait list.
Seats are only available if there is low enrollment or if students are counseled out of the first riding session. The best time to check for a second riding session seat is any day that a first riding session is running, since the office can open up any available seats for the second riding session after check in for the first riding session is complete or after the first riding session is over.
DO NOT PAY for a class unless you are certain all of the sessions you are have paid for are within the 60-day requirement explained below. Our school is required by the State of California to ensure you meet these requirements, so we do not have any ability to ‘give you a break’, and since we are also not able to refund or reschedule you if you do not meet them it will just waste your time and money to try to skip sessions.
If you have ANY DOUBT AT ALL as to what you need, please contact our office BEFORE you pay for anything, and we will be happy to help you make sure you understand what you still need. We do NOT want you to pay a bunch of money and not get what you are expecting and we love to help, so please call with any questions!
60 DAY REQUIREMENT(for students earning their license only)
If you are coming back to get your M1 you MUST meet the 60-day requirement!! The State of California requires that ALL classroom and riding sessions/tests be attended/passed IN ORDER within 60 days of each other in order to earn an M1 skill test waiver.
If you are not able to complete all sessions/tests in order within a 60-day window you will be required to start all sessions over again and we will not be allowed to count any of your previous scores/attendance, so please do not waste our time or yours.
In person classroom sessions are free to BAMT students returning within a year of their original class, but there is a fee for a new eRider account. One eRider account is included when you pay for two riding sessions, but you do need to contact the office to get it. If you prefer to take in person classrooms sessions, please contact the office to find out when the next in person classroom sessions will be held, as they will not be listed on the schedule.
In person classroom sessions MUST be taken in order of:
- 1st classroom
- 1st riding session
- 2nd classroom
- 2nd riding session
eRider classroom sessions may ONLY be taken in order of:
- all 6 chapters of eRider
- 1st riding session
- 2nd riding session
or:
- chapters 1 and 2 of eRider
- 1st riding session
- chapters 3 and 4 of eRider
- 2nd riding session
- chapters 5 and 6 of eRider before midnight of the second riding session
It is your responsibility to keep track of which sessions you need(including classroom/eRider chapters) and the order in which you need to take them. Since some returning students are not eRider students the instructors will not be checking your eRider grades, so you must make sure you have COMPLETED ALL SESSIONS IN ORDER.
Sessions taken out of order will be flagged when the class rosters are processed, making those sessions ineligible for passing the course.
Contact the office if you have any questions about what you still need to take.
If you did not complete your classroom/eRider sessions and first riding session in order and within 60 days of the second riding session you are NOT eligible to ride in the second riding session yet.
The State feels very strongly that the course will benefit you most if it is taken in full and in order within a 60-day period, therefore no exceptions to this policy can be made. If you are not sure about when you started your course or when you need to finish by or anything else, please contact the office.
You must meet all the same requirements for this option as for all other options, including:
- ABILITY TO RIDE A BICYCLE
- GEAR (helmet, shirt/jacket, gloves, footwear, durable pants, etc)
- IDENTIFICATION
- WAIVER
- ATTENDANCE IN FULL AND IN ORDER
- GOOD ATTITUDE
The fee for this course is non-refundable and not transferable, and is only offered to students that have already paid in full for a confirmed seat with Bay Area Motorcycle Training within the year.
Please contact the office if you have any questions.
